After church today, we had everyone over for a little Christmas celebration. About 20 people came, and we had a great time. People brought so much food there was no way we could eat it all! There were delicious Christmas cookies, ham, potatoes, baklava, pita chips with hummus, chocolate fondue, vegetables, and fruit, among other things.
It was fun to see little Ally’s reaction to our pet frogs. They’re very curious and very friendly, so every time she came over to see them, they would hop and dance for her, which of course made her laugh. They took turns showing off for each other.
We made some new friends with people who were visiting, and enjoyed hanging out with the “old crowd,” too. Those who’ve been here before know about our toy box which contains a random assortment of games, cards, and small toys that we’ve accumulated from friends, happy meals, or plays we’ve helped with. I don’t know who got into it first, but we had Scrabble, super bouncy balls, a fake beard, and stuffed animals out within 15 minutes.
We’ll miss our friends as many people travel to see family this week, but this was a nice way to spend time together before Christmas.
