Well, John and Darla have a new little bun, fresh from the oven.
Congratulations!
We finalized the date of our little bun’s arrival today. Happy and healthy, but still in a breech position, he’s going to be born by c-section next Thursday afternoon! The countdown has begun…

Sorry to hear about the c-section. Our daughter, Abby, has her 2nd birthday on the 17th. Not too far off from your little guy. Can’t wait to see pictures.

Isn’t the internet great! Thanks for the link to Darla and John’s website — I enjoyed seeing the photo! Looking forward to seeing photos of a little boy Matzko soon!

Hey Melita! I’m so happy the baby will be born after I get back from Kenya! I can’t wait to see you all.
Kristalyn - 2 years old! I can’t believe it! June is going to be the big month for both my boys. Bug’s birthday, then Father’s Day, then Austin’s birthday. I’ll have to start saving up my allowance in March every year.
Katie - Yes, the internet is great! I just saw your photo on the Australia team’s website. You look as beautiful as ever. It’s fun being able to beam stuff back and forth from opposite corners of the world, isn’t it?
Marcia - I remembered you as soon as I saw your maiden name. Thank you for praying. C-section on Sunday and you’re already blog-surfing? I’m hoping for that kind of recovery! But I know as long as the doctor hands us a healthy little boy, I’ll deal with whatever else.
Jess - I’m so glad you’ll be back, too! If any bizarre emergencies come up while Austin’s picking up my family from the airport or something, I told him “Hey - I can call Jess!” No home deliveries, though, sorry. I’m sure it would’ve been fun.
well, blog-surfing doesn’t take much energy. the LORD gives grace. can’t wait to see pics!
The Lord already has given grace in countless ways. That’s one reason we’ve chosen a name that means “God has heard.” Some of you already know the name, but I’m not posting it publicly yet. You’ll just have to wait until he’s born.
we’ll be praying for you to have the best birth experience possible. have you read any info about how to have the “ideal” c-section? being prepared should help. and knowing that it was necessary helps, too.
i don’t believe that henry’s was necessary, but jude would have died if he had been born naturally — i’ve dealt differently with both births for those reasons.
::hug:: are you going to ask for the mirror to watch the birth? if i have another c-section next time i’m considering watching it. ernie thinks that i won’t want to see it, tho, so, who knows . . .
Thank you for your prayers!
We go in for a pre-op meeting with the nurses and anesthesiologist tomorrow. They’re supposed to help prepare us a little more, but I’ve also been reading a lot online and from my books.
I think you’re right. I’d feel worse about this if it were an emergency and I’d hadn’t had time to prepare emotionally, and if I weren’t sure it’s necessary. One thing that encourages me is my doctor. I’ve liked her from the beginning, and I trust her decisions. The fact that she’s performing the surgery makes me feel a little better.
