Poor Sam. He has a very nice name, but we still find ourselves calling him “Babybug,” like we did when I was expecting. Now, it’s shortened to “the bug,” and often just “Bug.”.
Here are a few more photos of Bug. The first is one of my favorite new routines, called “the cuddle nap.” Between his early morning and midmorning feedings, when it’s too light outside to go back to bed but we both still need more sleep, we cuddle up on the couch and take a little nap together. I love when he snuggles his fuzzy head under my chin and dozes off with his fist in his mouth.

Sam is so adorable!!! Thanks for posting heaps of photos!!!!
We found a b&w picture of Austin that looks very much like Sam in the second picture. Of course, he was also a “bug.”
I was looking back at some of Austin’s baby photos, too, and Sam definitely looks like his dad, especially around the head and eyes. I think he got his mom’s mouth and cheeks, though.
What a handsome little man. He looks absolutely perfect! I love his hair. Keep on having fun with him…

Congratulations! Please tell Sam I said welcome to the world. You all look so happy and healthy. I know what those nights are like, and I know what it’s like to recover from that surgery (twice, for me!!). Yes, it will get better, and no, you are not crazy. And, to sound like a hopeless old fogey–before you know it, your baby boy will be 14 and taller than you, and no, he won’t want to be kissed like that any more! I wish you many, many happy days.–Brenda
Congratulations, Austin and Melita! I am so happy for you that Sam has arrived- safe and sound! We are still eagerly waiting… Hope you are enjoying these special early weeks together as a family:)
Once again your pictures made me cry…he’s so precious. Could it be that I’m pregnant, or just that I have a thing for little boys? I guess some of both.
Not sure about all this Bug stuff, but I do know that you can already Google “Samuel Edwin Matzko” with an exact phrase match and the name comes us three times and they all refer to the little guy. Not bad for only being around a month. You Google “Babybug” and you get a lot of stuff that has nothing to do with Samuel Edwin Matzko. I will stick with the real thing.
