Yesterday we took a zipcar up to South Berwick, Maine, to see the Sarah Orne Jewett House. Austin’s mother wrote her masters thesis on Sarah, a 19th century writer best known for her novels A Country Doctor and The Country of the Pointed Firs. Austin and Mom took a guided tour of the house while I stayed in the car to feed Sam. I did get to see the outside of the house, including a beautiful little flower garden. After visiting the home, we took a walk through the tiny town of South Berwick, passing a few interesting odds and ends, and visiting Berwick Academy, where Sarah was a student.
On the way home, we drove through York, Maine, and stopped at York beach (beautiful flowers again) and the Nubble Lighthouse.

I would have loved to have seen the Nubble Lighthouse. We are lighthouse addicts. =) We have seen and photographed over 100 since we have been married. Your pictures of it are very nice.
I love lighthouses, too, though my mom is even more enthusiastic about them. Come visit us and we can do a lighthouse tour of New England! There are plenty of gorgeous ones just a day trip from here!
I would love to. Maybe on our 20th wedding anniversary. =) Kristalyn
