Leaf Peepers

There’s a chilly rain falling today. The oak across the street is scattering its milk chocolate leaves over the cars and street. They cling in the wetness instead of blowing loosely as the cars drive by. It is wonderfully October-ish today. The leaves don’t seem to have reached their peak yet. I keep my camera [...]

Little Pumpkin

Sam seems to be enjoying the cool weather, though he’s impatient with the whole bundling up routine. He’s also getting closer to sitting up. He can sit up for short periods without support, and for longer periods if he has his boppy around him.

Pumpkin Festival 2006!

After teaching a workshop yesterday afternoon, I met up with my boys to attend the annual Life is Good Pumpkin Festival on Boston Common. Literally tens of thousands of people were there, enjoying the food, games, music, and pumpkin-carving. Every year they try to break the world record for the number of jack-o’-lanterns lit in [...]

Seasons and Change

I took the first photo the morning we left Nashville. Sam had a wonderful time visiting family, and now I think he’s a little bored with just Mom and Dad around. The trees seem to have exploded in color while we were gone. I’m so glad not to have missed all the beauty! We took [...]

Parade of Homes

We’re back in Boston now, but I just had to show you photos from the Parade of Homes we went to while in Brentwood. There were six homes, newly-built and decorated, averaging around 7 or 8 thousand square feet each, with theatres, billiard rooms, countless bedrooms and baths, and huge porches with outdoor livingrooms complete [...]

Going Out and Staying In

While we were in East Tennessee last weekend, we briefly visited the “Appalachian Heritage Festival” we had seen advertised. I say “briefly” because it turned out not to be much bigger than a yard sale. The musicians were actually quite good, though. By the time we got back to Nashville, Sam had come down with [...]

On the Road

Sam took his first long car trip on Thursday to Greenville to visit Austin’s family. We had gorgeous weather and a fun time visiting (with occasional fussy periods, of course). I wish I’d remembered to get a photo of the four generations. On Friday night, we met some of my relatives in East Tennessee. Once [...]

Nashville Visit

Sam and I flew down to visit family this week. He did relatively well on the flight and, aside from his evening fussy time, has been having a good time getting all this attention. So far we’ve just been in Nashville, but tomorrow he’ll be seeing Austin’s side of the family.

Fall Festival

Today was the day for our church to have lunch together, so we turned it into a fall festival. Several people made soups, breads, and delicious pies. The children dressed up, played games, and made crafts. Many thanks to Jess Abrams for taking photos for me while I had my hands full. I think she [...]

Dark and Stormy

I guess the only common thread between these Sam photos (besides Sam) is that they were all taken during evenings or rainy days. Yes, the days are getting shorter, but we do occasionally have sunlight here. I’ve included photos of some of Sam’s less charming moments, just so you get the whole picture.
