Since we moved here, we’ve made a tradition of celebrating my birthday at the ocean. This year, for the first time, it was actually warm enough to take off our shoes and walk barefoot in the sand. The water takes months to warm up, so standing in the waves numbed our feet, but we did it anyway. It was also Sam’s first time at the beach. He was fascinated by the sand, and managed to taste a few grains of it before we stopped him.

I LOVE your beach pictures–just looking at them is like going on vacation!
Happy Birthday!
I remember your pictures from your birthday last year. I think that’s when I first
started reading your blog–can’t believe it’s been a whole year! Sam is so precious–
I just want to squeeze him. His body language reminds me of Christopher. I think they would
get along well together.
I was going to say that your beach looks like our beaches on the other side of the country except for one thing… surfers! =) Happy Birthday. My sister’s birthday is the 21st.
The photos are beautiful. Glad you had such a lovely day, at least for Boston, to celebrate yuor birthday. I love the closeup photos, especially those of Sam and parents. The ones of Sam make me want to pick him up and hold him and stroke his soft red hair. I’m sure he would not have patience for that. Isn’t wonderful how babies sit up with their backs absolutely straight? We learn to slouch as we get older, I guess.
Fun pictures. I like the matching father-son hats.
i love babies at the beach…especially pacifiers at the beach. (yum…sand!)
beautiful pictures. i can’t wait until vacation.
