SoWa Art Walk

Saturday, the rain was a heavy mist soaking everything from all sides without ever really falling. The city sagged under the weight and dripped into lakes (always at the crosswalks, of course). I met my friend and coworker, Jenny, and we plodded with Sam in tow to the SoWa Art Walk on the South End. After schlipping and schlopping all the way down to Harrison Ave, we finally hit the jackpot: an enormous building (just one of many on the walk) with four floors of studios! Allie and Siena met us there. We spent the rest of the afternoon just in that one building, where painters, sculptors, metalworkers, potters and jewelry-makers had opened their doors and laid out snacks for soggy enthusiasts. I didn’t take any closeups of the artwork, since the artists don’t always appreciate that. But here are a few photos of our day in general.

Checking the map. Open! Jenny Alright! Bagel! Siena, Sam and Allie enjoy an interesting installation. Floor after floor of studios! Starting to drift off... Impervious to the weather. Curioser and curiouser... Old shell of a building. No idea what this used to be. Splash your worst, speeding taxis! Allie and Siena Old stairway. Mistyness
