Enduring.

We have been in the hospital since the wee hours of Sunday morning, experiencing something vastly different from Sam’s dayplanner-perfect (breech) c-section birth. In the maternal tradition of my family, this is going to be about endurance. Long. Slow. Unprogressive.

Nice to have wireless connection here so Austin can accomplish things, and so I can have moments of distraction. Who knows when, how (or if?!) this will end, but we have deep wells of gratitude for those dear friends who have become Sam’s surrogate family while we labor here. My own family will begin arriving on Wednesday.

A nor’easter began shortly after we got here, so we’re praying also for our friends here who are snowed under and iced in. What a start to the week.

    Oh Melita
Wish I knew how things were going. I have been thinking and praying for you the last few days. I thought you were scheduled for a c-section on Friday the 21st. Will pray that all goes well whatever day you deliver your dear little girl!

Melita had her baby this morning. Margaret Evelyn weighed in at 7lb and 13oz. Mother and daughter are fine. I am sure photos will be coming soon.
