The other day Sam was helping (read: getting underfoot) as I worked on laundry. He was chattering away when two words came out clearly. “Tess! Paul!” Actually, it sounded more like “Tets! Powl!” But I knew who he meant. Sam adores Paul –and his little sister Tess even more. He chases her around at church, calling out her name. As soon as they see each other they laugh and hug and run around chattering as though they can understand each other’s toddler language. Tess is four months older, and incredibly clever. Sam watches her come up with cool ideas (let’s drag this large toy over to the wall and stand on it so we can reach the light switch!) staring as if to say “Whoa, you’re smart! How come I never thought of that?!”
Well, it’s hard enough to get photos of one energetic little toddler, but two of them is nigh impossible. Jess Abrams caught a couple of cute shots, though, when the kids were playing with the firefighter hats in the nursery. I’m so glad she did, because they won’t be this age for long.
