Bloggy Giveaways!

**Update: Comments on this post are now closed. The winner has been drawn and emailed. I’ll be making the announcement public in a separate post as soon as I get confirmation! Thank you all for participating!**

***
I’ve decided to take part in the Bloggy Giveaways Carnival! The lucky winner gets this canvas bag from my Zazzle store!

The story:
My mother always kept a box or bag she called “The Lonely Hearts Club” where single socks could wait to be reunited with their missing mates. Any time we found a lonely sock, it went to the Lonely Hearts Club. Then once in awhile we’d dump it out to see how many matched up into pairs.

The rules:
If you’d like your very own Lonely Hearts Club canvas bag, comment on this post. When you comment, please enter your email address (it won’t be public) so I can contact you and let you know you’ve won.

The contest ends at 5:00pm EST on Friday, Feb 1. I’ll draw a comment number at random, and whoever made that comment is the winner! Once I’ve gotten in touch with the winner via email, I’ll make the announcement public. I can ship to the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. One entry per person, please. Entries with inappropriate comments or no email address will be deleted.

What a clever idea! Like most everyone I know, I am constantly asking where is the other sock. Then, my son comes home from college with weeks worth of laundry and invariably, he leaves one or two. I could keep them in this wonderful tote until his next trip home! Thanks,Cindi

This is such a coincidence. As a hispanic family I come from, my mother used to have a cute bucket with lonely socks too, everytime that we found the match after every other laundry she used to create a whole story about the lonely tail saying thank you for finding her match and be together again, and believe or not, my sister and me used to love and believe it. You are awesome Melita!!

I could use the bag to store all the non-mated socks that I’ve collected through the years. I have a theory that washers shred the singlets into quarter-inch squares and quietly send them out with the wash water.

  40. Posted January 29, 2008 at 6:23 pm | Permalink
