The Fourth Generation

Mammaw and Pappaw with their two great-grandchildren:

My favorite place on earth (you don’t grasp how steep it is around there until you realize you’re standing in the yard and looking down at the top of their roof):

Many of you know that we were in WV last week, visiting my grandparents (who look too young to be great grandparents)! My parents met us there, too, so we had four generations together. I took a zillion photos, but didn’t realize until I got back that 90% of my photos were of the garden and scenery, while only 10% were actually of family. I hardly got any good photos of my cousins, who spent quite a bit of time humoring our kids.
Side note to cousins: I’m grateful to you all for putting up with Sam’s constant motor sound effects and insistence on rolling the ball up and down the hill half a million times while you did all the legwork. And we won’t even mention Maggie’s cheerio-strewing tendencies. :)
We had a wonderful time out there, and there are more stories to tell: potato-digging! bean-picking! waterfalls! mummies! Yes, I said mummies. Tune in on Thursday. You’ll love that one. :)

I must say, I enjoyed running up and down and up and down those steps.
