The Garden

My grandparents grow their own corn, tomatoes, peppers, beans, squash, canteloupe, potatoes, lettuce, cabbage, rhubarb, blackberries, grapes, apples, and peaches… and possibly other things I’m forgetting. We really loved spending time in their garden while we were visiting. Sam “helped” Pappaw dig potatoes, Austin and I picked beans, and Austin climbed into the apple tree to pick apples, which Mammaw used to make applesauce for the kids.

This reminds me of the summers I spent growing up planting, picking, canning and freezing all summer. Your grandparents are amazing to get all that work done , but isn’t it wonderful to have all that ready for the long winter.
