Living in a State of Confusion

Sam: You want to give me a chocolate chip cookie.
Me: I didn’t make any today.

Sam: I’m telling you.
Me: Your Jedi mind tricks don’t work on me.
Sam: You want to give me a cookie.

Maggie: Poopie.
Me: Do you really need to be changed or are [...]

Sibs

My “little” brother and “baby” sister, both much taller than I am.

Portraits in Playmobil

The kids have a few pieces of “Playmobil 1-2-3.” They’re the same scale and quality as regular Playmobil, but without the removable (chokable) pieces, so they’re appropriate for kids as young as 18 months. The kids have decided that these particular characters make up our family:

Little Mommy

But she also loves getting opportunities to help with [...]

Sweet Potato

We started solids and he likes them. Can you tell?

Bears, Blankets, and Good Books

After naps, the kids often drag their bears and blankets out into the living room for a little quiet reading time.

Stones River

Austin’s Dad came for a visit after Christmas. While he was here, we visited Stones River National Battlefield in Murfreesboro. The weather was cool, but not uncomfortably cold. After walking through the museum in the visitor’s center, we bundled up to explore the battlefields and cemetery. It was especially interesting to be there near the [...]
